Lovely ocean view room, very good dinner in restaurant- scallops superb, pork belly fantastic and lamb two ways very good and generous servings . The chef provided a delicious decorated birthday cake with candles and chocolate writing on plate and our lovely waiter sang happy birthday! We were stoked !!

Found access to the shower very difficult having to climb into the bath first, toilet was cramped in the corner and very uncomfortable, I first stayed here about 12 months ago and our room was like a dungeon facing the front street, so this time I thought I would book Bout 2 months in advance and ask for a sea/beach room with a view, the extra cost didn't worry me, but the room I was allocated was on the ground floor, however if I stood on the chair I could maybe see the beach. I am a 75 year old age pensioner and 2 day breaks away for us are rare, we used all the facilities including our meals, and to cap it off, the seafood platter we had on our last night gave me the runs, and spent the rest of our stay on the toilet,

We decided last minute to get a room on the long weekend and we were lucky enough to get one great customer service wonderful buffet breaky room was so tidy and value for money .Would def stay again if we needed to.

The Beachfront hotel provided a world class experience situated so close to the beach. Photos don't do the view justice.

We booked an Ocean View Room and it was definitely worth the little extra. The room was very large, with a nice modern fresh decor. Shower pressure is always a make or break for me and was a little nervous after reading some of the reviews but it was great.

Definite recommended place to lay your head in Hokitika.

Good location, beach is just in the back of the stay. You can just walk around the area, it's strategically located.
The receptionist is friendly!
One bad thing is that might need to improve on the soundproofing. Can easily hear people waking in the hallway.
