We recently chose The Belvedere for our Valentine's Day dinner and unfortunately it was a very disappointing experience, especially for a night that should feel special.
After being shown to our table, the staff member left immediately without any explanation of how or where to order. We eventually found a QR code and realised we were expected to order via an app. This turned into a nightmare - the app repeatedly crashed and after 30 minutes we still hadn't been able to order food or drinks.
We asked a passing staff member if there was another option and were told we could order at the bar. At the bar, we were met by a very unhappy staff member who took our order without so much as a smile. It felt like we were an inconvenience.
On my way to the bar to order, a staff member slipped on the wet bitumen, whilst carrying food. We were disgusted to see two staff members nearby, laughing at this poor girl.
Our starters arrived poorly presented - the calamari was simply thrown onto a plate with a tub of sauce, and the 1kg of chicken wings (the smallest starter option) were dry. While we were still eating our entrees (about 10 minutes in), our mains were brought out. When I mentioned we weren't finished with our starters, the staff member ignored the comment and walked away. We had to flag down another staff member just to request a takeaway container.
I also ordered wine through the app while we were eating our starters, and it took 35 minutes to arrive at the table. The mains themselves were dry, overcooked, and very disappointing.
Throughout the evening we felt rushed and dealt with multiple rude or disengaged staff members. On a night where so many couples were celebrating Valentine's Day, the experience completely missed the mark.
We spent close to 0 for the two of us and left feeling very let down. Sadly, this was not the special evening we had hoped for.
