hotel Ashburton, superb, what more can I say. The food, hot, the drinks, cold, and the aroma enticing yet reminiscent of a simpler time. The hotel ashburton has redefined what a bistro experience should be. Many thanks to the duty manager Dianne and the ladies in the kitchen. Best of luck for the rest of the season.

Great dinner, nice friendly good waitress. Kids loved the cheezy garlic bread. Good ribs and Sirloin steak meal. Finally we got great size ribs the 13 year old couldn't finish. ... lol.

Do not recommend this location.
Very unclean and unprofessional. The hotel manager made myself and my friends feel very uncomfortable and none of us will be returning. Very appalled to see such a good place crumbling to the ground. Don't waste your time and money on this business!

Very disappointed with the service, on arrival got "what's your name?" No hello, and then next, "that will be 5". Never had to pay before even staying the night. She didn't show any services in the hotel, only where the room was.
The shower, it was freezing, to get hot water the pressure was super super low and you had to lean right against the wall, the shower head doesn't move. You can hear children running up and down the hallways. Room took ages to warm up. Can't fill the jug in the basin, you have to use the bath.

Still an average country pub. Cheery staff which was nice as too many servers in this day and age don't bother to acknowledge their customers.
