To be charitable we got recommended this place by a friend, they were very happy so maybe we just had a bad night.
That aside a very disappointing feed. Was excited to try out a place that calls themselves the house of schnitzel for obvious reasons. Went with the Mt P schnitzel, was served the driest overcooked scnitty I\'ve seen in a while (photos will speak for themselves.) toppings were mediocre at best, sounded nice but a mish mash of stuff thrown on top. Chips were okay, salad was the best part of the meal.
My partner is gluten free, looking at the menu you might consider this tavern a good option for dietary requirements. Spoiler, it\'s not. The GFI written next to each meal just means as told to us by the main server behind the till \"we use some gluten free ingredients in the meal, it\'s not actually gluten free. You can have a salad though\" Not that big a deal in itself but is straight up misleading. She went with the pork belly, it was obviously reheated. The meat is good but the crackling was a rubbery oily mess (assumed from the thing being spruced up in the microwave before coming out) I understand pre preparing food but make an effort.
Server was nice enough to offer a free beer to take the sting out of two sub standard meals, so that\'s cool I guess?
To top it all off my partner felt nauseous for most of the night, so who knows how gluten free the allegedly gluten free mash/pork belly ended up being.
Overall disappointed, hopefully it\'s a one off but genuinely not a good stop for us.
