I recently had the pleasure of dining at the Pig 'N' Whistle in Indooroopilly, and it was an absolutely delightful experience. The restaurant boasts a beautiful vintage atmosphere that immediately transports you to a charming, old-world setting. It's the perfect place to unwind and enjoy a meal.

The service was exceptional, with every staff member going above and beyond to make our visit memorable. Our waitress, Natalia, was particularly accommodating to our needs. She was attentive, friendly, and ensured that every detail of our dining experience was perfect.

The combination of the lovely ambiance and the warm, professional service made our evening truly special. I highly recommend the Pig 'N' Whistle for anyone looking for a cozy, inviting place to enjoy great food and excellent service.

We were after a pub meal and decided to give Pig N Whistle a try given we needed to do some shopping at Indooroopilly.

We opted for the restaurant section for something a bit quieter and nicer.

We were advised to pick a seat and the staff member followed us and provided us with menus along with pencils and colouring sheets for our daughters.

Not long after sitting down one of the staff started using the coffee machine and banged the coffee machine group handle repeatedly and aggressively on the stainless steal bench causing the crockery and cutlery to clang and everyone nearby jump. At this point the manager approached our table to take our order, I asked if the banging was necessary and was advised it was as coffees needed to be made. We placed our order and waited.

After around 30 minutes we placed another drink order and the manager apologised for the delay advising the kitchen was short staffed. We advised this wasn't an issue as we were in no rush. Roughly 15 minutes later our meals arrived.

My steak and chips were okay, although I question if the two pieces were 200g.

My partner ordered fish and chips and it appeared this had been twice cooked or forgotten about in the deep fryer. The fish was salvageable once the burnt batter was peeled off.

One of our daughters ordered the arancini and this was just an inedible ball of deep fried mush.

Our other daughter order nachos and this was a pile of smashed corn chips topped with salsa, old avocado and sour cream.

Not sure if this was a bad day or not but we witnessed three other groups complain as they were paying.

As we went to pay the staff didn't ask how everything was but given feed back of previous customers they probably didn't want to.

Overall the manager was doing her best but was let down by the kitchen and there needs to be a re-design of the coffee area if slamming of the coffee machine group handle on the metal bench to empty it is necessary.

Overall, this place is fine. Its best to book ahead, even if its located in the shopping centre and theres plenty of tables available. Positives: The steak was cooked to our liking.

Negatives: Staff seemed somewhat unwelcoming. We stood there a while to enquire about a seat and we also stood there a while to pay while the staff avoided us. We were a little disappointed in the price of the kids meal, plus Sunday charge. No drink and no meat. It seemed steep for a bowl of veg nachos with stale corn chips.

Great atmosphere, great food especially padthai & pizza. We had a great night with my friends. The best Pig N' Whistle ever.
