Customer Review

I went here last year at September and really enjoyed it. The dinner was amazing and so was the buffet breakfast. Rooms were great and had lots of space. Certainly worth the money!

Location is good but unfortunately we felt underwhelmed with most aspects of our stay. As a platinum Accor member I emailed in advance to see if an upgrade or room on a high floor could be allocated, we were placed on level 6 of 15 with a terrible view. Welcome gift was disappointing and we were charged for one of our welcome drinks. The man on the guest relations desk was rude and shouldn't really be working in customer service. Again as a platinum member I requested a late check out (12 noon instead of 10am) which could only be secured for a price until I reminded the guest relations staff member that if available it should be complementary for platinum members. I'm not sure if he's on some sort of commission but he wasn't happy.
Breakfast in the lounge was also an issue. For some reason the hotel restaurant was closed for the duration of our stay which meant that the lounge was not exclusive but open to all hotel breakfast guests. This made it challenging to get a seat and breakfast options ran out and weren't restocked. Again not the experience I was hoping for as a platinum member. We're staying at the Mantra Sun City on the Gold Coast next week which is a 3 star property and already the platinum member experience has been far better and we haven't even checked in yet.

This hotel is in a great location for shopping and dining out, at the expense of being very noisy, unfortunately the lack of sound proofing really impacted my stay, with buskers, trams and some club or pub noises being very, very loud, quite late into the evening.

The club lounge was nice, not a huge offering of canapes but great atmosphere and friendly staff. Breakfast in the club lounge was great, I loved that it wasn't overdone and we could order the hot options off a menu.

For those who appreciate recognition of Accor Plus status, you may be a bit disappointed, compared to other Accor properties. This didn't bother me at all, and I would have scored higher if it weren't for the noise and being charged for minibar items I never consumed.

I recently stayed at the Pullman Melbourne City Centre and overall had a very enjoyable experience, with just one area that let the stay down slightly.

The room itself was excellent - a great size, exceptionally clean, and very comfortable. It's clear that a lot of care goes into maintaining the rooms, and I couldn't fault this aspect of the stay at all. I was also really appreciative of the early check-in and late check-out, which made a big difference to my trip and was a great touch from the hotel.

I ordered room service during my stay, and the food was absolutely beautiful - honestly, I couldn't fault it. It exceeded expectations and was a highlight of the experience.

However, the main issue I encountered was around communication between staff, particularly regarding the rooftop bar. At check-in, I was told the bar would be open from 12pm on Saturday, so I planned to go there for lunch and to use my welcome drink. When I arrived at 1pm, I was advised it was closed until 6pm due to a private function - something that was never mentioned earlier.

Unfortunately, the bar is also closed on Sundays, and I departed on Monday, which meant I didn't get the opportunity to visit at all or use my welcome drink. This was disappointing and could have easily been avoided with clearer communication at check-in. It left a bit of a sour note on what was otherwise a really positive stay.

Overall, the hotel delivers strongly on comfort, cleanliness, and service in many areas, but improving internal communication would really elevate the guest experience.

Would I stay again? Yes - absolutely, but I'd hope for better communication around facilities next time.

The booking and checkin was smooth, staff are very polite and accommodating.
Our room had some mosquitos and I imagine it's an old building which is refurbished hence some windows and sink seal area was dirty black. They did offer us a room change as well. I also really liked the water system outside rooms for still and sparkling. Brilliant! Location was prime. Parking was a bit far with luggage but you can pay valet if you like door to door service.
Overall a brilliant stay

Guest facilities are very good - the gym is well equipped, trendy and spacious. The infrared sauna hit the spot. The lounge is tastefully decorated and relaxing. Our corner room had adequate and environmentally friendly amenities. Breakfast was delicious and nutritious. We had a great extended weekend stay in a very convenient Pullman - excellent job.
