Been over 20 years since I last stepped foot in this place and not a thing has changed....well except the pokies, they're gone!

Still some of the same faces that used to frequent the bar on game days just 20 years older now or no longer kids running around but adults at the bar buying beers....so many good memories.

And it was for that exact reason we were there....Southport Old Boys reunion with most of the crew from the 1996 team there to catch up and reminisce.

Unfortunately no karaoke on the night but the ghosts of past would have Marty O'Donald knocking out "My Way" or the Heavy/Death Metal band nights that used to go on here.

It was like walking back into a world that time had forgotten in a very good way.

So many good nights in this place in my younger years, so many great stories, beers spilt into the carpet, pre clubbing shots at the bar after 3 grades of football quad played that afternoon.

It was amazing to be apart of and also great to see a new generation taking it into the future!!

I do not recommend Southport FC for women's football. The club advertised urgently needing players but then excluded qualified women from playing while consistently favouring men with no knowledge of or respect for women's football. Leadership is misogynistic, dismissive, and rewards conformity over skill or experience. If you're serious about playing, look elsewhere.

Peter the div 2 coach doesn\'t watch woman\'s football, has never coached woman\'s football and doesn\'t even know who Sam Kerr is apparently! 😂 Can tell he cares! LOL

Good grounds for kids to play soccer, fields are marked with flags which was easy to locate, only had cones for the fields which is poor, and the referee was biased to the home team which was disappointing. Not enough parking for weekend games. Clean toilets and a clubhouse which sells food was good.

Visited the club for our grandsons under 6 game and it was just a wonderful experience.
Their grounds impeccable with green turf for the days matches.
The grounds packed with families enjoying the contest and I will remember as a very special day.

Surprisingly, the Southport Warriors club is not in Southport but in Ashmore. There is a huge soccer ground which is always maintained properly. The soccer training is available for every age group. Training usually happens between February till September. Certified and passionate coaches.
