Best place to eat for dinner in Waihi. Kids menu was great and if you like burgers, I had the chicken burger and by far the best burger I've ever tasted. Chicken parmi was underwhelming but not everything can be perfect. cheese burger and fries for kids was a meal for a adult. Beers cold and good price. Glad we found this place for our fortnightly dinner out

We were a party of 8 who visited The Sterling Friday evening April 14th. We could not have been more impressed. We had traveled from Auckland for a weekend exploring the Waihi area and our evening at the Sterlng was the highlight of our visit. A friendly greeting met us as soon as we walked through the front door. The atmosphere was so relaxing, comfortable couches and a big coffee table allowed a group like us to chat and unwind.The tap beers included Guinness! The house wines were very reputable and well priced. The dinner menu was amazingly extensive and every meal was delicious and very well presented..well done to the chef and supporting team! Table service was friendly, personable and very efficient. In summary...thanks to all the team at the Stirling...you are a very special bunch of people....and your hospitality was superb!

Took my sister there for lunch. We were right on the cutoff for the kitchen to close. But they made a choice to serve us. The food was good. A busy day probably because of heading into holidays so the noise level was a bit above what I class as comfortable. Otherwise a very nice experience.

They do the perfect steak! Lovely meals...need to work a lo on tge apple crumble tho! awesome atmosphere very relaxed and comfortable been back 3 times.
