Every time we have eaten here, we have had a lovely night out. The meals are absolute value for money and eating anywhere else in town is so much more expensive.

The staff are more than happy to accommodate our dietary needs, with a great range at the salad and vegetable bar, which unfortunately you don't see anywhere anymore.

Went to dinner tonight and left extremely unhappy with both the service and the overall experience. The portion sizes were completely off - my steak was tiny and absolutely not worth the price. We were seated out near the old stables on chairs that honestly looked like they belonged in a retirement home. The overall setting didn't match what you'd expect for the cost.

I couldn't finish my meal, and when I asked to take the rest home, I was told they could "only give me what I paid for." Half of my dinner (including chips and salad) was thrown out, and I was only given the main in a takeaway container. Throwing food away instead of allowing a paying customer to take it home is ridiculous.

Apparently this is due to people "stealing from the buffet" - but calling a small selection of rice, potatoes, and fries a buffet is a stretch. If that's the policy, where is the signage? Why are customers not informed beforehand? It felt more like a convenient excuse than a reasonable explanation.

To make matters worse, if your kids want food on a separate plate, it's an extra just for the plate. That's excessive.

It's disappointing for families and locals in Walkerston who just want a nice dinner without having to drive into Mackay, especially when options are limited. The staff themselves were fine - this is more about management and policy. This was my second visit, and unfortunately it will be my last.

Went for lunch today at Wests Walkerston. The front desk ladies were absolutely lovely and very welcoming. The junior staff seemed a bit uninformed at times, but they were genuinely helpful, polite, and did their best, which was appreciated. We ordered from the coffee area, the drinks were great quality, however they were served in takeaway cups despite dining in. For a dine-in venue like a sports club, this felt a bit disappointing and not very environmentally friendly. Overall a pleasant experience, with just a few small things that could be improved.

We had a wonderful meal here tonight. I had the Maple Pork chop and it had amazing flavours and was cooked perfectly.

Even the help-yourself foods (salads, vegetables, chips etc.) tasted so fresh and crisp.

Staff were friendly and service was quick.

The whole team made it a great night out for our family.

The rudest place we have ever been! Had dinner there with the family got served raw chicken. Brought it up with the staff and they refused to replace the meal and refund us!
