I recently spent a couple of evenings at Tatts hotel in Toowoomba and honestly, it's become one of my favourite pubs in the area. It's that classic old Queensland pub feel but it's been done up nicely without losing its character.
Walking in, you get the nice mix of heritage feel and modern touches. There's a proper restaurant area, a big sports bar with heaps of screens. It feels welcoming straight away , not too rowdy during the day.
The food is proper pub grub done well. The portions are massive and the prices are fair for what you get. I tried the chicken and mushroom crepe and it was genuinely delicious - creamy, tasty, and way better than your average pub crepe. The steaks are cooked nicely, the schnittys are huge, and the wings and loaded stuff are perfect for sharing with a few drinks. Nothing too fancy, but everything we had was consistent and satisfying.
If you're in Toowoomba and after somewhere with character that isn't pretentious, put Tatts on your list.
Highly recommended. 10/10 from me.
Great Toowoomba pub!
