A fantastic localpub. Have been coming for years for the great food, service and atmosphere. Enjoy having a chat with the friendly staff. Lots of screens for rugby, league etc. Would thoroughly recommend.

Have specific dietary requirements and couldn't cater for me so I brought my own meal but still wanted to have drinks with my friends. I was told I was lying about my condition by the owner and then told by another waiter that I had to leave. I made contact after the event to try and resolve the issue and have not been contacted back. Was treated so rudely and disrespectfully. I have never encountered this anywhere else with my specific health/ dietary restrictions.

Great place in Howick for a drink and a meal. Staff are friendly and great atmosphere. Parking is plentiful around the premise. They have various specials for different days of the week. Particularly love their Steak Night on Thursdays. Generous servings and very well priced. Ask for rare if you like your steak medium-rare.
On Monday through Sunday, Barrel Inn is open from 10 AM to midnight.
